Makeup
Event
On Sunday, September 17, 2006, Hair Studio 54 Salon & Spa held
its first makeup event. It was organized by Makesha Jackson, makeup
artist and hair stylist, with help from spa manager Toni Maurice
and owner Connie Stebbins. This event was held for teenage girls
between 14 and 19 to show them everything Hair Studio 54 has to
offer. Our goal is to make homecomings and proms easy. We offer
everything from hair, nails and makeup to facials and massage.
There were refreshments and makeup lessons incorporated with the
upcoming fashions and trends. A discussion about proper skin cleansing
was given by esthetician Vicki Cristiani. A buy two get one free
special was offered exclusively to the attendees of the makeup event
and much fun was had by all. Hair Studio 54 Salon & Spa offers
homecoming and prom packages for your one stop shopping convenience.

Cut-A-Thon
Fundraiser
Hair Studio 54 Salon & Spa hosted a fundraiser for the Ballinger
Family. Rachel Ballinger works full time as our receptionist. Her
father took pictures of our staff for our website. He works as a
freelance photographer for the Public Information Office of the
Fairfax County Police Department, and is well known throughout the
community. He has also used his photography skills for the Special
Olympics with Dean Jones in their golf tournaments, plane pull,
turkey trot and torch run. He has also worked with the Fairfax County
Crime Solvers.
A few years ago, Mr. Ballinger had a heart attack and his health
insurance premiums went through the roof. With children and a wife
at home, he could not afford the cost of the insurance and was forced
to cancel his policy. On March 17th, 2006 he was diagnosed with
kidney cancer. He has recently undergone successful surgery to remove
the tumor and left kidney. Unfortunately he will be required to
undergo a series of treatments to curtail and hopefully cure the
remaining cancer.
Hair
Studio 54 Salon & Spa organized a Cut-A-Thon on Sunday, April
9th, 2006 from 11am-7pm. Our staff donated their time, energy, skills
and all of the day’s proceeds to the Ballinger family.

First
Skin Care event
This
event allowed Ginaline Bateman, the Spa’s esthetician, and
special guests Birgit Faforke and Laura West of Dermalogica, to
introduce face mapping to the clientele. This new and innovative
technique, developed by Dermalogica, uses special equipment called
Skin Scanners. When using this machine, the client can view the
different layers of their skin and any conditions they may have.
After
their face-mapping, guests were given a prescription for the correct
Dermalogica products for their skin care needs. Guests were then
led to the Skin Care Bar where they had an opportunity to practice
with the different products.
Everyone
enjoyed complimentary refreshments as well as gift bags, gift certificates
and special discounts on the Dermalogica products.
